GRAILS

The pieces that don't come up twice

Sealed and high-grade graded games, sourced through collectors we have worked with for years. Most of these are not in our shop and never will be — they sit in somebody's vault, and we are the reason you get to hear about them. No prices on this page. If one of these is the piece you have been hunting, email us and we will talk.

We are just opening this up

The first pieces are being photographed and verified now — sealed Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pokémon and Squaresoft titles, WATA and VGA graded, most of them out of private collections that have never been listed anywhere.

If you are hunting something specific, tell us now. We would rather go and find your piece than wait for you to spot it.

How a grail trade works

These are not shop purchases. The piece usually belongs to a collector, the numbers are private, and the trade goes through us.

  1. You email us

Tell us which piece and a little about yourself. There is no price on this page because the number depends on the deal — and on whether you have an under copy.

  2. We show you the certificate

Full serial, full grading report, more photographs. You get to check the piece properly before anyone talks about money.

  3. The trade goes through us

The piece comes to us, your side of the deal comes to us, and we check both before anything moves on. Neither of you is sending a sealed game into the dark on a promise.

  4. If it is not as described, we eat the shipping

If the piece does not match what we published, it goes back and we cover the return and the insurance. That is our risk to carry, not yours.

What an “under copy” is

Most of these pieces trade with one. The owner does not want to be left without a copy of the game, so the deal includes a lower-graded one — a loose or CIB copy, sometimes a lower-graded slab — which you supply alongside the money. They keep a copy on the shelf, you get the high-grade piece, and a collection that was never going to be broken up gets broken up.

It sounds like a quirk. It is the reason half of this page exists: these pieces are not for sale at any price, and they are available on this one.
