397 Sealed Switch Games from One Collector

The Switch Half of a Massive Collection

Chrono Collectibles bought 397 sealed Nintendo Switch items on March 16, 2023. This was the second part of a much larger collection purchase. The first part centered on Nintendo DS.

The collector had spent years buying limited-run games and other sealed Switch variants. The collection eventually went into a storage unit. When the collector decided to move on to another hobby, Chrono Collectibles arranged to buy it outright.

Getting everything home took more than one run. The pickup required several long trips from Maryland to Virginia and back. Hundreds of standard cases were involved. The oversized collector’s editions added another layer to the move.

Every item was sealed.

Hundreds of Red Switch Cases

The standard games made the scale obvious. Red Nintendo Switch spines stretched across the floor in long, tightly packed rows. The stacks filled most of the space in front of the shelves.

Laid face-up, the collection showed far more variety. Large retail releases sat alongside smaller titles and limited physical editions. Some games used ordinary cases. Others had sleeves or larger outer packaging.

The collection was broad, but it was not random. It reflected years of buying physical Switch releases while the platform’s limited-edition market expanded. Sealed variants were a clear focus.

The strongest recorded sales included Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Special Edition, which sold for $399.99, and Shantae and the Pirates Curse, which sold for $389.99. Minecraft Season Two Story Mode The Telltale Series also stood out at $299.99.

Those were standard-sized compared with some of the boxes waiting elsewhere in the collection.

The Collector’s Editions Needed Their Own Space

The larger editions spread across the floor. Their packaging ranged from compact boxes to sets several times the size of a normal Switch case.

Darius Cozmic Revelation Strictly Limited Collectors Edition remained inside its shipping box. Korean text appeared on the package. The new North American release later sold for $200.00.

The Japanese POKEMON SWORD AND SHIELD Exclusive JAPAN Amazon Bundle used an unusual shoebox-style package. It sold for $250.00. It was the Japanese release among the documented standouts, while the others were North American versions.

Several limited editions clustered in the same part of the collection. The Messenger Limited Edition Special Reserve sold for $239.99. Cotton Reboot DX /499 LE Collectors Edition reached $209.99. R-Type Final 2 Limited Edition Special Chronicle Box Set sold for $179.99.

Moving boxes like these was tedious. They did not stack as neatly as standard cases. Their different dimensions also made the repeated Virginia trips more cumbersome.

Years of Collecting on One Table

Another group was arranged across a tabletop. Standard cases overlapped with premium editions and large display boxes. The range of packaging showed how far physical Switch collecting had moved beyond the familiar red case.

Zelda Breath of the Wild Explorer's Edition appeared near the front and later sold for $215.00. Other releases included imports, limited editions, collector’s boxes, and sealed retail variants.

The storage-unit recovery closed one chapter for the collector. It also finished the second stage of a massive two-part purchase. The DS collection came first. The sealed Switch collection followed.

Chrono Collectibles bought all 397 items outright for cash. Several Maryland-to-Virginia trips later, the complete sealed Switch collection was recovered, sorted, and ready for its next chapter.
