Send photos and details
Use the form, text them over, or email them. Shelf-level shots are fine — you do not need to itemise anything. Close-ups only where condition genuinely matters.
We research it properly
We look at what comparable items have actually sold for recently, not what a price guide claims. Condition, completeness, how fast something moves and what it costs to sell all go into the number.
You get a specific offer
Usually within a day or two. A real number, with the reasoning behind it. Ask how we got there and we will show you — no obligation, and no pressure if you decline.
Pickup or shipping
Accept and we arrange it. Local pickup around Maryland and Florida, or a prepaid label if you are mailing it in. Nothing moves before the price is agreed.
You get paid
Cash on collection for local pickups. PayPal, Zelle or bank transfer within a business day of arrival for mail-in. No fees deducted, no waiting for anything to sell.
What makes a good first message
You do not need to get this right — we will ask if something is missing. But these four things get you an accurate number fastest:
- Wide photos first. A shelf, a stack of boxes, a table with everything on it. We can tell a lot from a wide shot.
- Anything you think is valuable. Close-ups of those specific items, front and back.
- Rough scale. “About four long boxes” or “three shelves” is plenty. We are working out whether this is a mail-in or a van.
- Where you are. Town and state. That decides pickup versus shipping.
Things people worry about, addressed
Are you going to lowball me?
It would be a poor strategy. We are a small business in a small world, our feedback record is public, and most of our collections come from referrals and repeat sellers. We will also tell you when you would net more selling something yourself.
Do I have to accept once you've come out?
No. We agree a price from photos before we travel, so there is no renegotiation at the door. If something turns out to be materially different from the photos we will say so and explain, and you can still walk away.
What if I only have a few things?
Send them anyway. There is no minimum. If a collection is small enough that you would genuinely do better listing it yourself, we will say that rather than making a token offer.
Common questions
How long does the whole process take?
Usually under a week. Chrono Collectibles typically returns an offer within one to two days of receiving photos, and pickup or shipping is arranged as soon as you accept. Very large or complex collections take longer to research, and we will tell you up front if yours is one of them.
Do I need to sort or itemise my collection first?
No. Photos of the shelves, boxes or piles are enough to start. Chrono Collectibles would rather you did not spend a weekend sorting — we do that part, and an unsorted collection is not worth less than a sorted one.
What if I don't like the offer?
Then you say no, and that is the end of it. Valuations are free and carry no obligation. You are welcome to take our number to another buyer and compare — we would rather lose a deal than pressure someone into one.
